.... wanted to be sure that all of you are  aware of the Museum's Book
Conversation slated for next Monday, May 12 from 6:30  - 8:30 p.m.We are
discussing Richard Louv's 2005 work "Last Child in the  Woods: Saving our
Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder".  I am sure you  have read this
book, heard of this book or are wanting to read this book.   Well, whether
you have or not, I hope you join in the conversation.   Special guests for
Monday's conversation are geologist and educator  Genevieve Atwood, early
childhood educator from the JCC and now BioKids Robin  Perley, and
photographer and author Stephen Trimble.  In fact, Steve  co-wrote a book
on this very subject about ten years ago, so has a very  interesting
perspective. Complete info on the Meeting Place and the  Special Guests can
be found at http://www.umnh.utah.edu/bookclub.

The UMNH Book Conversation Monday, May 12, 2008 6:30-8:30 p.m. At the
Mill at Tracy Aviary (in Liberty Park) $5.00 suggested donation per
person.  FREE for
members of UMNH, The Aviary, The Open Classroom,  CCNS, BioKids (or anyone
else)  :) Please forward this to your  various networks.  This is a very
critical subject that is striking  resonance in parents, teachers,
grandparents, caregivers, organizations involved  in public and nature
programming, etc.  Let's get people talking and taking  action within our
own community!! Janet  Frasier 801.541.3122
