Introduction to Permaculture Design
May 16th-18th, 2008
Salt Lake City, Utah
Permaculture is a design system that provides the practical
skills to create landscapes that possess the resilience and diversity
of natural ecosystems. It draws from the wisdom of traditional cultures
as well as contemporary earth and design science to create cultivated
"ecosystems" that integrate people into the landscape in a sustainable
way. Participants will gain the skills to design and create their own
regenerative and abundant landscapes. Course topics include:
Permaculture Principles and Ethics
Water Harvesting and Management
Soil Building
Perennial Food Systems
Garden Design and Establishment
Animal and Plant Integration
Urban, Suburban, and Rural Permaculture design
Energy Efficient Building
Cooperative Economics
Agroforestry
And more
Cost of course is $200 with a discounted rate of $160 for students,
teachers, Wasatch Commons residents, and single parents. We also have
two work trade options available to those who could not afford the
course otherwise. Registration and payment due no later than May 9th.
